SIGNIFICANCE OF DASH-HARA
Dussehra is derived from the Sanskrit words: Dash (ten) and Hara(defeat). Dussehra is also known as Vijayadashami,dasra. Dussehra has many stories in itself it Is depicted as Killing the demons and bringing peace to the universe good over evil.
MAA. Durga killed the demon Mahishasura on the 10th day which peace and harmony in the universe.

Lord Rama and Ravana fought the war which lasted for ten days and on the 10th day Ravana was defeated.
Ravana Was a Great king and warrior he had mastered all the Shastras and Vedas he was also known as Dashanan. Dasha was Bramhin who had an abundance of knowledge His main goal was to defeat gods be immortal and rule the entire universe. Ravana's 10 heads represent Six (shastras) And 4 Vedas.
SIX SHASTRAS
Sankhyashastra (Mathematics), Yoga Shastra (Master of Yoga and Meditation), Nyayashastra ( Law and Administration), Vaisheshikshastra(physics, astronomy, mechanics), Purvamimansa (philosophy, justification), Uttar Mimansa Shastra (Posterior Study)

Rigveda, Sam Vead, Yajur Veda and Atarva Vead.
RAVANA SIGNIFICANCE
Rava was also a scholar of Astrology and a doctor of Ayurveda. Ravana was also known as Dashagriva and Dashanan(Ten necks). Ravana was never born with ten necks it is portrayed as The Maya (illusion)he developed in himself. Ravana was Perceived as one the best Scholars of all time and a Great warrior he was also a loyal devout of Lord Shiva and created Shiv Tadostotram. Ravana. Ravana's intelligence turned out in ego and Ravana was defeated only by his ego.
SIGNIFICANCE AND SYMBOLISM OF TEN HEADS OF RAVANA.
Don't let our intellect and vision grasp the lusty vision towards anyone change our mindset and vision with compassion and contentment towards other people. Lust is not the only thing in the universe it is a natural process gifted by Kama Dev it will come at the right time and it will end at the right time.
2) Mada (Pride): Ravana was proud of his intelligence and military powers.
We should be proud of ourselves for whatever god has gifted us. Our body, inner soul, wealth, and intelligence do not convert our power(Shakti) into an ego.
3) Ahamkara (Ego): Ravana started creating Maya(illusion) with his knowledge and powers which led him towards the ego and destruction of Lanka.
Be in control of your Indriyas(senses) don't let your ego lead the path of destruction by your own hands, your knowledge can lead towards success but within a second we can become 100 to 0.
4) Moha (Attachment to possessions): Ravana was attached to his possessions and desires, leading him to overthrow Lanka.
Do not be attached to material things and accessories we have if we are attached to them it will cause pain and suffering and kill our desires and be happy with whatever you have.
5) Lobha (Greed): Ravana was overpowered by his knowledge and his kingdom.
Don't let our knowledge and desires, overrule your intellect we should be happy with whatever we have in our life and be satisfied.
6) Krodh (Anger): Ravana's defeat was his anger for not getting anything he wanted. He destroyed tons of other Kingdoms in anger.
We can be successful at the right time if we work hard and pour efforts effort into it but our desires and attachment to material things will start making us angry leading to us destroying ourselves with our own hands.
7) Maatsaya (Envy): Ravana started feeling envy of other demon kings by all means.
Don't be envious of others with what they have in their life celebrate others' success with your compassion A real friend would not envy another friend for his success or whatever he has achieved in his life.
8) Jaddata (Insensitive): Ravana did not care about others' feelings and gave priority to himself.
Some people who use other for their benefit and hurt their feelings adds to your karma whatever you do with others you have to pay back like Ravana.
9) Ghrina (Hatred): Ravana started hating his wife, brothers, and the military which led one more step to defeat
If you don't like anyone at least stop spreading hatred towards anyone it's okay everyone has different perspectives and different visions that does not mean we have the right to hurt others and start spreading hatred. Everything can be changed by your Vision and mindset.
10) Bhaya (fear): Ravana was feared for his possessions and was more sinful.
What is gonna happen in the future nobody knows. If we are given possession in the end it's not permanent in our life it has to be an end. Possession is just an accessory in life. Fear is caused by attachment Our fear can cause lots of destruction in our lives. Life is all about rejections, failures, and non-permanent so start preparing yourself accordingly.
Ravana started creating his Maya(illusion) with his hand which led him to defeat. In the ten days of the war, all ten heads were killed by himself. Ravna could only be defeated by Lord Rama. During the war Ravana's brother Vibhishana. Vibhishana was a loyal devotee of Lord Rama Because of Ravana's ego and hatred Vibhishana was thrown out from the Lanka. Vishibhishna instructed Lord Rama to aim his arrow at Ravana's belly. Ravana had his nectar immortality in his belly, a boon given by LordBramha Creator of the Universe. Lord Rama realized the Bramhastrs from the bow straight into the Ravana's belly. Lord Rama defeated Ravana and rescued Maa. Sita
Sita gave herself a rebirth by attending an ordeal (AagniPariksha). Cause she had faced cruelty in Lanka. Maa Sita gave her test in the ordeal. She wanted to bring all the purity in herself. Maa Sita burned all the cruelty in the fire.
Ram, Lakshman, Sita, and the all army returned to Ayodhya. Lord Ram met his mother Kausalya and touched her feet for blessings She speleed you Killed the almighty Lankesh Pati Ravan. Lord Ram answered.
